Role Play Rules

Introduction: Welcome to the House of Forbidden Shadow's In Character thread. Here a list of the rules which apply only to this (IC) Topic. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Head of the RP Division: Odette [Lorelei] (123174)

1. Respect. This is a simple rule indeed. You respect other players and receive it in return. Of course, when IC, this rule is used with moderation. For example: If you and another player are fighting or arguing IC, than play you're character appropriate. But, if you and another player are having conflicts outside of character, do not bring this into a post. Your posts will be edited or deleted. If an issue arises, please contact a moderator.

2. No God Modding. Most people do not fully understand the definition of "God Modding" so I will point out just a few things that are included in this category. First, when in combat, you hits do not "automatically" hit and destroy a person. You must give the opponent a chance to respond and react. Secondly, your character is neither "all powerful" or "invincible". Nothing in this world is indestructible and neither are you. Again. if your post fall under any of these listed or any other circumstances the moderators deem as "God Modding", your posts will be edited or deleted.

3. Rank. This rule only applies when you are participating in a House Thread where your actual RoB character is being played. In any of the House Threads you must play your character according to their rank. If you are a fledgling, your character will naturally not assume dominance over an Elder. This does not mean your character has to be completely submissive, but remember that there will be consequences from the higher up ranks if you do step out of line.

4. Cussing is permitted with moderation. This means that if your character goes off calling someone the f-word repeatedly in the post, it may be edited or deleted. Use your heads for this, there's no need for an overload of foul language.

5. No Out of Character posts. If you have something you wish to communicate to a person use either the (OOC) threads or a good old fashion blood letter.

6. One Character per thread. You are allowed one(1) character per scenario. This avoids confusion in posts and allows an overall better playing experience for everyone.


These are some easy rules to follow. If you are caught breaking any of these, here is the system used by the moderators:

First Offense - A private warning via Blood Letter. Also, your post may be edited or deleted.
Second Offense - A public warning posted on the thread and a reminder sent via Blood Letter. Your post will be either edited or deleted.
Third Offense - A third warning posted publicly on the thread and via Blood Letter. You will be suspended from the thread for a select number of days, issued accordingly to the severity of the offense.
Forth Offense - You will be banned from the thread. Also, an Ancient will be notified and punishment will be issued accordingly.
